  • Highest quality raw ingredients

    We test and screen our raw materials carefully to meet our exacting standards. This ensures our farm animal feeds are produced using the freshest key functional ingredients and minerals, and formulated precisely for beef, dairy or pedigree animal breeds and their specific lifestage needs. Premium-quality wholegrain carbohydrates and proteins are utilised in each formulation, with carbohydrates being a key source of energy. Natural sources of protein, like oats, barley, maize and wheat, provide a variety of amino acids when supplemented with soya to support the growth, reproduction and well-being requirements of farm animals.

    Our highly experienced agronomists work closely with local farmers, as well as international grain producers to grow and harvest the finest raw materials and ingredients, including wheat, oats and barley. We source some of our raw materials from only the most trusted global ingredient suppliers. However, more than 40% to 50% of our products are grown locally within the South-East of Ireland. Connolly’s RED MILLS is very fortunate to have some of the best grain producers in the world providing us with premium-quality oats, barley and wheat.

Every raw ingredient that enters our facility undergoes stringent analysis and testing to ensure it meets the highest nutritional standards for farm animals.

    Our animal feeds are free from naturally occurring prohibited substances and comply with NOPS standards while meeting regulatory standards for quality and safety, and are certified as compliant under the Feed Materials Assurance Scheme (FEMAS) and Universal Feed Materials Assurance Scheme (UFAS).

    Our RED MILLS Pro Balance vitamin and mineral package is scientifically crafted to include vitamins, minerals and electrolytes that are carefully balanced to optimise absorption and the nutritional requirements of your farm animal.

    Consistent nutritional composition is crucial for the well-being and performance of farm animals to support your targeted yields for growth, reproduction and shows. The RED MILLS Pro Balance package provides this consistency, enabling farmers to balance against forage and fodder for a balanced diet. As needed concentrates, dairy or beef feeds can be added to suit your feeding programme or seasonal needs, such as buffer feeding dairy herd in Autumn or finishing beef cattle ahead of slaughter.

    Premixes comprise vitamins, minerals and functional ingredients. While they may make up a small portion of the finished animal feed, they are crucial and tailored to the specific animal class and type for supporting the highest levels of health and well-being.

  • Forage analysis

    We analyse forage quality to learn about the nutritional attributes of the forage and also identify deficiencies in key minerals which, need to be addressed to balance the diet. Our agronomists use the forage quality information to guide and advise farmers on the need for reseeding or overseeding for better grazing, hay or silage and also to address deficiencies in the soil and develop nutrient plans.

    Soil and pasture analysis

    Supported by our agronomists, we conduct detailed soil and pasture testing to analyse nutrient and mineral levels such as potassium and phosphorus, which are key for animal health, offering expert advice on the best soil pH levels for growth and the best grassland management, including reseeding/overseeding, nutrient plans, and plant protection programmes.
